Eminence Computer Repair

Interview with Mr.Magallanes

What attracted you to the world of technology?

When I was a child I often took apart new toys to see how they worked on the inside. Over the years I got Interested in Science and Electronic Engineering which led me to fixing Computers. I self taught myself how to fix and repair home Computers before ever attending College and flew through my certification tests in no time. I see the potential that Computers and Electronics have to change the world and I want to be apart of that.

Tell us about your experience working with technology.

I started out by fixing the family's Computers,TVs,VCRs, etc... Slowly I started to build clients outside of the family and by the time I graduated High School I had my hands full working on PCs for clients around the community. I later attended vocational training where I worked on numerous Networks, Switches, Hubs, Routers and Client PCs. I also obtained my "computer certifications" at this time. Since then I have worked on countless PCs for clients and business owners and have done quite a few networking jobs. Everyday is something new.

How do you lead your organization?

By example... I don't expect my employees to do anything I wouldn't do myself. I encourage feedback and new ideas to help our company grow and I always help my employees reach there highest potential.

How do you plan to expand Eminence CR in the future?

Well we have recently added Graphics Design work for CD Covers and Home Photos for an amazing price, so I hope to expand that out more. Maybe getting into Website Design and Video Editing in the near future. I am also going to open up new store locations in various cities around the U.S. and see how it works before going global. I have also considered to work on Home Security, Cable, and Audio systems. As demand increases I add new services to keep my clients happy and not have to go to 3 or 4 places just to get there home up to date on technology.

What advice would you give to someone starting out in this field?

Be ready for a life of learning. You have to constantly learn new standards and how to use new technology that's being created at an incredible rate. Study everything you can that relates to technology, not only a specific area. Never give up and if you cant figure something out find resources online such as videos and tutorials to assist you on your learning.
